Chapter Chef of The Year 2015
Thank you for the nomination of chef of the year. It is truly an honor to be nominated.
I am a cooking fanatic and love sharing my knowledge and passion with others. I have been a chef in the making my entire life. My passion is in working with any fruit or vegetable that has come from the farmer’s field to my kitchen.
Growing up in Harbor Beach, Michigan I was blessed to be the daughter of a farmer. This is where my love of food and passion for whole foods came from. My first dish was a corn pie which was made from field corn with a graham cracker crust for my father at the age of 4.
Now teaching the future generation of chefs is my main goal. I would like to teach them what the food industry is about and share my knowledge of cuisine.
Mott Community College has given me the knowledge and skills necessary to reach my culinary career goals. I graduated from Mott Community College with highest honors, a 4.0 GPA and I am also a member of the Honor Society Phi Theta Kappa.
I am truly a blessed woman to have the support of my husband Phil and my family of four children. We have three sons Jacob 21, Zachariah 19, Matthew 18 and a daughter Mia 10.

2014 Chapter Chef of The year- Tom wood
About Chef Tom Wood
I started in the food business as a volunteer for a concession stand for a bingo at 15 yrs. old. I soon was swallowed up into the food business and it has been my life and more importantly my PASSION. I have always enjoyed what I do and never feel that "oh I have to go to work today." Even in Boot camp during the fifth week which is work week, everyone hates working in the galley and I looked forward and very much enjoyed my experience. I started my career at the very bottom and worked in each aspect of the business. Working in a family business offers its own unique challenges. Over the course of time I was able to rise through the ranks and eventually became an owner.
As many know, being an owner is not about the money. I find it is about the accomplishments and challenges. I have great personal pleasure about being able to not only just employ but provide livelihoods for up to 120 people. I take great pride in my work and ask for your vote for Chef of the Year. Again, thank you for taking the time to consider and to get to know me.
